Charles Ackerman's Brain on the Web. Be sure to look at the Computer Publishing Update.
Adler and Robin Literary Agency. They handle many different types of non-fiction. Good information, links, and writing resources.
American Medical Writers Association This is the website for the Northwest chapter of AMWA.
Judith Appelbaum & Sensible Solutions, Inc. Good information for all kinds of publishing.
Books A to Z The complete World Wide Web homepage for Internet marketing and publication resources. They have a great collection of publishing links.
BookZone. This is a list of Internet resources. There are more links here than you'll ever be able to research for all kinds of book and magazine publishing. Check out the links at this location on their website, too.
Bruce's Confessional. Bruce Epstein maintains an informal "Who's Who" of computer book publishing. (You can sign up whenever you like, so it's not a closed group.) Here's an opportunity to find out more about your favorite computer book authors and find out how to contact them directly.
Home page for the Bulwer-Lytton contest. Good for helping you to not take writing too seriously.
For Writers Only. Jack Beslanwitch's site for writers. There are an extraordinary number of links to fiction (particularly fantasy and SF) writers. Great place for fiction or general non-fiction writers to explore. The references links are classed by type of writing.
Ivan Hoffman, B.A., J.D. Ivan Hoffman is a lawyer representing authors and publishers as well as web site designers and site owners. He has a large number of articles on his award-winning site that can be of great interest to these groups.
Inkspot, a writer's resource website. They also host Inklings, an email newsletter.
The International Association of Business Communicators, a professional organization with some overlapping interests with respect to the Society for Technical Communication.
John Kremer (author of 1001 Ways to Market Your Books) has lots of great ideas and contacts for publishers. Also the home of the Book Marketing listserv, which will give you information on successful marketing (and a chance to compare notes with other authors doing the same thing).
The National Writers Union. Look here for information on hiring practices, sample contracts, legislation affecting writers.
Notes on Documentation Planning.
These are the slides on the basics of documentation planning from my presentation to the STC in July, 1999. The file is in WinWord 97 format and is copyright 1991, 1997, and 1999, so don't use it in print without my explicit permission. This information will appear in print in a much expanded form in one of my upcoming books, "The Official RoboHELP Bible."

Serene Rebel's Writer's Circle. This is the writers' page for members of Six Degrees, one of the best uses of the web for networking and meeting people.
The Society for Technical Communication. An international professional organization for technical communicators of all kinds. (Also check out their other site at www.stc-va.org).
Studio B Literary Agency. Contacts with authors, publishers, and information about the publishing business. This website should be the first stop for anyone interested in writing computer books! Also the home of the Computer Book Author's listserv, a daily mailing list that anyone interested in computer book publishing should subscribe to.
The Tale Wins Literary Agency. Home of the Golden Quill award for promoting literary excellence on the Web. (Check out some of the sites that they've given this award to.)
THOR+, The Virtual Reference Desk Good online reference materials for writers.
